A directorial debut travelling through Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, South Africa, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe. It follows grassroots financial practices, community banking, mobile money and digital lending, with Bitcoin entering the wider question of how people build access and resilience.

Filmed over three years with around forty voices across Latin America and Spain, from Bitcoin Beach in El Salvador through Colombia, Mexico and Argentina. The source positions it as a documentary about financial empowerment and personal sovereignty rather than price speculation.

PoW! · Bitcoin advertisement awards
PoWies celebrated the best advertisement efforts in the Bitcoin industry. The first Bitcoin-only advertising awards were part of the Sunday awards ceremony, alongside the Golden Rabbits.
The award artwork is preserved here as an archive asset. This page does not accept entries or imply that the competition is open.
European Bitcoin Pizza Day
The 15th anniversary of the symbolic Bitcoin Pizza purchase: outdoor stage, live music, DJs, pizza and drinks at Samocentrum, powered by Cryptosteel.
Pitching Rabbits
Filmmakers pitched their movie ideas in a cinematic shark tank for a €3,000 realisation grant, powered by Angor. It ran at Kinoteka on Friday afternoon.
Film & Bitcoin workshops
The Community Stage was open to participants and Warsaw locals for film workshops and Bitcoin workshops at Amondo on Friday and Saturday mornings.
Parties & satellite events
Afterparties and side-events extended the festival beyond the cinema: self-defence workshops, salsa classes, an entrepreneurs’ breakfast, an art minigallery, a Bitcoin walk, a shooting range and more.

- The first large-scale Bitcoin film festival, then in its third year.
- Not another Bitcoin conference: a cultural, community-driven experience with relaxed, purposeful energy.
- A programme celebrating Bitcoin culture, consciousness and connections through documentaries, dramas, features, shorts, animations, AI videos, fiction stories and more.
- Set in the heart of Warsaw at the Palace of Culture and Science, an iconic city landmark once described in the source as “Stalin’s Ziggurat”.

Why Warsaw?
- Warsaw was presented as a city with an old soul and a modern spirit, rich in history and culture.
- It was described as a convenient travel hub and wallet-friendly, especially for food.
- The invitation framed Warsaw as ready for Bitcoin’s spark and spirit.
Getting there
Travel & Commute
- Chopin Airport was described as about 15 minutes from the Palace of Culture and Science; Modlin Airport as about an hour away, with buses and taxis available.
- The public copy pointed visitors to Warsaw buses, trams and metro, with single-ride and day-pass tickets, and to the WTP public transport guide.
- It described Uber and Bolt as affordable and recommended the Veturilo bike-sharing app for exploring the city.

Bitcoin in Warsaw
- The archived copy said there were not many BTC-accepting merchants yet and pointed readers to BTC Map, including Bar Bazaar as a particularly Bitcoin-friendly place.
- It described Warsaw as having more than 80 Bitcoin ATMs and mentioned “bitomat”, “BTM” and “Bitcoin ATM” as search terms.
- The page also mentioned cryptocurrency exchange offices and peer-to-peer exchange support from the event community. These are historical 2025 statements, not current availability claims.

2025 creator notes
How to submit my film?
The archived 2025 page directed filmmakers to a form or to hello@bitcoinfilmfest.com. That submission route is retained as historical context only; this archive does not open a form or invite active submissions.
- It welcomed documentaries, dramas, comedies, 15–30 minute shorts, 60–90 minute features, animations, AI-generated videos, fiction, trailers and teasers.
- Topics named in the source included freedom, Bitcoin, decentralisation, personal and social sovereignty, parallel structures and permissionless culture.
- With limited screening time, an independent jury selected the main programme; selected works became Official Selections nominated for Golden Rabbits. Works not screened in the main programme could still be considered for online, side-event or network presentation.
- The source also presented PoWies as a Bitcoin-only advertising show, separate from film submissions.
Bitcoin Cinema Digest, the infopage & community chat
The public page used Bitcoin Cinema Digest as newsletter context around Bitcoin cinema and festival updates. It also sent visitors to INFO.BITCOINFILMFEST.COM for the detailed agenda and the public BFF25 Infoboard. The Bitcoin FilmFest community chat on Telegram was the public community link. Those are preserved as historical references, not as active registration paths.
