Catch Up: A Peek From a Few Weeks Ago

#01: A week ago, after a long break, we finally had our first live session. Two filmmakers Alana Mediavilla and Max DeMarco, as well as Zack Mahoney, the founder of the IndeeHub Studio. Topic? ‘Independent Cinema: The Journey from Idea to Screen’. Over an hour of lively chit-chat and plenty of interesting takeaways. #02: In the first half of October, HBO released its new film, MONEY ELECTRIC: THE BITCOIN MYSTERY. Regardless of mixed opinions, even controversies, it’s definitely an influential and technically a very well made film.

#03: October brought several Binema screenings to Europe and the U.S. Two of them, as an example, are award-winning documentaries: Paul Kemp’s SEARCHING FOR SATOSHI in NYC, Williamsburg Cinema, and Alana’s DIRTY COIN in Ketelhuis, Amsterdam. If you’re interested in the first title and don’t mind watching it at home on a smaller screen, head over to IndeeHub. As for DIRTY COIN, there are many more sessions planned in different locations worldwide.

BFF-Buzz: What’s Hot and Happening These Days?

#01: The NEW Geyser Grant alert for filmmakers and movie-buffs: Cast your vote from October 28th to November 11th on selected film projects that still have their active funding campaigns. Powered by the Orange Pill App, and their B-Only Conference, which is also planning some screenings as part of the program, this grant may help turn a few interesting titles into reality. Great, isn’t it? More details here.

#02: November 1st, at the underground spot known as Sovereign House (New York), you will be able catch the first part of the film by Osy, THE LEGEND OF LANDI. If you’re interested in joining this screening, get in touch directly with the creator. His email address is available on this website, where you can also learn more about this film.

#03: Starting next month, we’re teaming up with the Bitcorner Podcast, bringing special sessions once a month to dive into different corners of culture and independent cinema. The first recording happens in just a few weeks. Keep an eye on ours and Juan’s social channels, where we’ll announce the exact date.

#04: On the second weekend of November, the picturesque town of Maribor will host Slovenia’s First Bitcoin Conference. While we won’t be there in person, we’re preparing some cinematic surprise for all the attendees. You can read more about it here.
